Anzhi FC is still in a fever. This time, the media spread the rumors that Igor Denisov, who recently moved from Zenit FC to the Makhachkala club, left the club and almost broke his contract.
Anzhi FC first announced that nothing like this happened, and its midfielder is just injured. But few people believed these words.
As a result, the publication "Soviet Sport", citing a source in the Makhachkala club, said that recently Denisov was really highly aggressive towards his teammates and the coaches. During one of the last training sessions before flying out to the match with Rostov FC the midfielder yelled at his partners, expressing his displeasure about staying in Anzhi FC. He also yelled at the member of the coaching staff of the club, Arsen Akayev, who also failed to appease Denisov. Among others, Denisov criticized the head coach of Anzhi FC, Dutchman Rene Melensten.
After that, Igor, without telling anything to anyone, left the training session and left in an unknown direction. Until now, no one in the club, including the leadership, knows where Denisov is. Anzhi FC believes that he returned to St. Petersburg.
Judging by the information that leaks to the press, team owner Suleiman Kerimov sided with the foreign players in the conflict.
Team managers say that if Denisov finds a way to make peace with teammates, he will remain in the club. But knowing the complicated nature of the football player, such an outcome could hardly be imagined. Igor is one of the most intemperate and controversial Russian football players. Let us remember a few episodes involving Denisov. Before the European Championship in 2008, he refused the invitation to the national team. And when coach Alexander Borodyuk asked why Igor would not come to the first team of the country, he said: "I do not want to do this!".
The next time, Denisov almost scrapped with the coach of Spartak Moscow Valery Karpin. The footballer got disqualification for four matches because of insults and misbehavior. Actually, Denisov also left his former club – Zenith St. Petersburg – after the scandal: last fall, he publicly criticized the leadership for the purchase of foreigners - Brazilian Hulk and Belgian Witsel, who were promised the salary far exceeding those of the Russian players, including Denisov. As a result, in the summer of 2013 Igor was sold to Anzhi FC.
I do not think that the leadership of Anzhi FC should keep up Denisov. In a situation when the club does not have experienced and respected Guus Hiddink, who could hold back the passion and somehow affect the atmosphere in the team, such a controversial character as Denisov will only aggravate the difficult situation that has developed in Anzhi FC at the start of this season.
Another thing is that there are persistent rumors that the Makhachkala famous footballer Samuel Eto'o is to blame in the current crisis. His name is associated with the resignation of Krasnozhan and Hiddink. There are some rumors that the Cameroonian, whose authority among the many foreign players of Anzhi FC is incredibly high, sets the style of the game and manages the substitutions in the course of matches. In such circumstances, hoping that the club will be able to quickly overcome the crisis would be naive.
