Key issue for the project’s realization is creating a transport infrastructure
A group of top North Caucasian Federal District officials responsible for tourism-facility construction in the region was travelling by helicopter to attend the opening ceremony of a ski resort construction site when their helicopter crashed in Karachayevo-Cherkessia. All of them have been hospitalized, but they still feel inspired about the project.
One of the main investors of the project is the ‘Arkhyz-Sinar’ company, which is considered to be the main asset of the regions social and economic progress, as it invests in many projects.
The head of Karachayevo-Cherkessia called the Arkhyz all-season resort project the first, ‘pilot’ program of the Republic’s tourism development. He hopes that by 2025 the number of foreign tourists visiting the Republic will triple and the resort will become one of the world’s most popular. He emphasized that the project will allow the creation of 10,000 additional jobs as well. The infrastructure that will be created for the resort’s facilities will also contribute to the well-being of the Republic's residents.
To promote tourism in the NCFD the government plans to create special resort zones in each of the District’s republics. Businessmen operating in these zones will be given special privileges in order to promote the service sector. The government also is also considering creating special airports near future resorts.
So the plans are huge, and now the NCFD’s politicians and businessmen are preparing new projects to present at the Sochi Economic Forum-2011.
