RNC to present project at finals of MIPIM Asia Awards


The Resorts of the North Caucasus (RNC) State Corporation will present Russia at the international exhibition of real estate and investments MIPIM Asia 2011 in Hong Kong on November 15-17 with a project of the North Caucasian tourism cluster, spokesman of the RNC said.


The project has entered the finals of the MIPIM Asia 2011 as best prospective projects of Central and Western Asia.


There were a total of 80 development projects from 15 states presented. The Russian project, named "Resorts of the North Caucasus", was approved by real estate experts.


The winners will be announced on November 16 after an online vote by participants of the exhibition and a closed ballot of the judges.


The nominations include: best project of the future, best business center, best "green" building, best hotel and resort zone, best mixed type of building, best residential building, best trade center and best project for renovation of urban construction.


Renata Shushayte, head of the department for exhibitions of the RNC, says that the nomination of the best prospective projects of Central and Western Asia is notable. A Russian developer project has reached the finals of such a prestigious international exhibition for the first time. The project has every chance of winning.


The official clarified that experts will analyze the project in terms of ecology, design, technology, pay-off, social effect and prospects. The project meets all the demands of the judges.


Russia plans to build 5 ski resorts in the south as part of the tourism cluster in 2011-2020: Lagonaki (Krasnodar Territory, Adygea), Arkhyz (Karachay-Cherkessia), Elbrus-Bezengi (Kabardino-Balkaria), Mamison (North Ossetia-Alania) and Matlas (Dagestan). The government plans to add the coastal areas of the Caspian Sea (Dagestan), Kavkazskiye Mineralniye Vody (Stavropol Territory) and Ingushetia. The project was approved by the government on October 14, 2010. Skiing routes will have a total length of 898 km, there will be 179 cableways and hotels with rooms for 89,000 visitors. The cluster will have a daily capacity of 150,500 people. Gradual realization of the project would provide over 330,000 jobs.


The MIPIM Asia has been an annual exhibition since 2006. 150 companies took part in MIPIM Asia in 2010. Officials from 797 companies of 40 states arrived for the exhibition. This year the exhibition is attended by investment and development corporations, bureaus for architecture and construction, hotel investors and retail networks of China, UK, Romania, Thailand, Singapore, Turkey, Japan, Ukraine, Australia, South Korea, USA and Malaysia.
