According to the general director of VCIOM Valery Fyodorov, answering the question on where Russian citizens would like to spend vacations, most of them dream about travelling abroad (33%), while only 16% want to spend vacations at home.
Beach tourism is the irreplaceable leader: 38% of Russian citizens prefer it. The second place is taken by healthcare resorts (21%); staying at home – 20%, hiking – 17%. The least popular variant is vacation in resort houses (10%).
Most of the Russian citizens spent last summer at home (47%). The rest went to summer cottages (25%), other cities of Russia (10%), the Black Sea coast (10%), abroad (8%), and other places in the territory of the former USSR (3%) and the Baltic Sea region (2%).
The majority of the Russian citizens are sure that this year their vacations will be as bad and good as the last year (59%).
This summer 45% of interviewed people plan to stay at home (last year there were 50% of them). Each fifth person wants to spend summer in a village cottage (22%). Some people plan to go travelling to other Russian cities (11%), the Black Sea coast (10%), abroad (9%), other places in the territory of the former USSR (2%), and the Baltic Sea region (1%). People explain their staying at home by lack of money (47%), absence of vacation due to hardworking (12%), health problems (10%), family reasons (7%), and housework (4%).
As for children summer holidays, 37% say that their children will stay at home (42% last year). 17% of interviewed people state that their children will rest in summer cottages. 12% of Russian citizens plan to send children to children camps, the same number of people wants to take them to the Black Sea region of the Caucasus; 9% will travel to other places of Russia; 7% - abroad; 2% - to the CIS countries.
People who plan to travel intend to spend about 27.5 thousand rubles for their trips per every person.
