The Belgorod District is at the top of the list while the Chelyabinsk District is at the very bottom of it. As for the North Caucasus, the least environmental friendly is the Stavropol Krai (74th place in the rating), North Ossetia holds the 60th position, Dagestan - the 54th, Ingushetia - 47th and Chechnya is 42nd - and these results are not too good. Karachay-Cherkessia, on the other hand, holds 19th position. An uncertain situation with national nature parks' administration prevented the Republic from obtaining a higher position. Kabardino-Balkaria reached the honourable 4th place (while in the spring rating the republic was only the 13th). There is almost no industry in the district, and its economy is based on the recreational complex and sky resorts. Unfortunately, problems with near-border zone passes, especially for foreign citizens, make the area less attractive for tourists. There are, all in all, 11 zones in the republic fit for recreation, cultural and health tourism.
Recently the authorities have been paying special attention to the inter-regional resort network construction, due to be completed by 2020.Pavel Martynov. Exclusively for VK
