The G20 summit, opening on November 16th in Antalya, was preceded by a meeting in Istanbul of the ‘Women's Twenty’, initiated by the current chair of the ‘Group of Twenty’, to promote greater involvement of women in economic and political decision-making. Turkey was one of the first countries to give women the right to vote, and now Ankara has decided to remind the world of the advanced views on the foreign policy of the state with a Muslim population and to show special respect for women.
The official representative of Russia in the ‘Women's Top Twenty’, an Associate Professor of MGIMO (University) of the MFA of Russia, a senior adviser on strategic planning of the NCI BRICS, Victoria Panova recalled that the G20 is primarily an economic, financial forum in terms of global economic reforms, in accordance with the interests of all possible players.
Turkey in the year of its chairmanship of the G20 emphasized the three main priorities - it is inclusive economic development, the implementation of earlier decisions and long-term investments. Many of the proposals of the Turkish side intersects with the positions and proposals that were put forward during the Russian presidency of the G20 in 2013 and in the BRICS in 2015-2016 ... At the initiative of the Turkish Presidency not only new formats put into effect , but also political issues - at the G20 summit the issues of refugees, the crisis in Syria, and the issue of combating terrorism will be discuss. We are pleased, of course, that Turkish President Erdogan has showed a great attention to our women's summit’’
According Panova, " there is an active discussion of the economic adaptation of women, that is, the possibility of full inclusion in the life of society and return to work of mothers, the provision of flexible working hours. The issue of the so-called ‘silver economy’ is actively discussed at the G20, that is, it is the possibility of labor inclusion, shall we say, the preservation of the working life of active women after a certain age, in fact not only women but also men, but we have focused, naturally, on this aspect. That is, considerable time will be devoted to the issue, of course, of overcoming unemployment and the labor force as a driving tool."
The experts predicts that at the summit of G20 "A significant part of the points will be dedicated, of course, to global reform. By the way, recently we have heard the statements of the official representatives of China that they are still not satisfied with the problems that exist in promoting the reform of the IMF, and that undermines the trust that exists in the United States, the credibility of the G20, the credibility of the IMF itself. "
The relevant issues, according to Panova, are various macroeconomic policies, financial instruments, the contradictions that arise between the US and Europe, which are in fact leading these policies in different directions.
