Russians have become the main foreign buyers of apartments in Georgia since 2022. At the beginning of 2023, the demand for housing in Georgia among Russian citizens remains at an unprecedented high level.
In 2022, Russians purchased over 6,000 apartments in Georgia, in total, 10,600 apartments were sold to foreigners in a year.
The Russian citizens remain the main purchasers of real estate in Georgia at the beginning of 2023. In three months of 2023, Russians bought over 2,000 apartments. Thus, since last year, over 8,000 apartments have been bought by Russians.
In addition to the Russians, Israeli citizens are actively buying apartments in Georgian cities: in 2022, they bought 2,500 residential properties, since the beginning of 2023, over 650.
The real estate in Georgia is also purchased by citizens of Ukraine: over 1,300 apartments were sold to Ukrainians in 2022, and 500 at the beginning of the year.
In 2022, foreigners became the main buyers of real estate in Georgia. In total, 15,000 apartments were sold in the country in 2022.
