Armenian law enforcement has charged a woman who threw an umbrella at Nikol Pashinyan a few days ago. Her actions are qualified as an assault against an official.

A villager who threw an umbrella at the Armenian Prime Minister has already been charged, the press secretary of the republic's Investigative Committee informs.

According to Gor Abrahamyan, she is accused of an assault against an official. Presumably, Narine Asatryan committed her act in order to interfere with Pashinyan’s activities, Sputnik Armenia reports.

What happened

The high-profile incident took place on April 10. On this day, Nikol Pashinyan made a trip to the Vayots Dzor region. In the village of Malishka, the head of government entered the courtyard of a private house. Suddenly, a woman threw an umbrella at the head of state. Whether she managed to hit the politician remains unknown.

The attacker was detained. A criminal case has been initiated, and an investigation is underway.
