Scientists and rescuers warn about dangerous conditions in the mountains of the Southern Federal District and the North Caucasus Federal District due to possible mudflows, landslides, and snow avalanches.
Amid spring warm-up, avalanches, and mudflows intensified in the mountains of the Southern and North Caucasian federal districts of Russia.
A high risk of mudflows and landslides is predicted this week in all mountainous regions, the All-Russian Research Institute on Problems of Civil Defense and Emergencies warns.
"In the mountainous regions of the Southern and North Caucasian Federal Districts, the risks of mudflows and landslides are increasing," the report on the website of the Institute reads.
