Today, representatives of Islam celebrate one of the main religious holidays - Eid al-Fitr. This holiday marked the end of the month of Ramadan, during which believers observed a thirty-day fasting, refusing to eat and drink during the daytime.

The traditions of celebrating Eid al-Fitr date back to the time of the Prophet Muhammad and the period of the formation of Islam since 624. Then the holiday was widely spread during the formation of the Arab Caliphate. Today Eid al-Fitr is celebrated in Africa, Asia and Europe. In a number of Russian regions, the day of celebration is declared a day off.
