A 3+3 format meeting of the foreign ministers of Russia, Azerbaijan, Türkiye, Armenia, and Iran ended in Tehran.
The foreign ministers of the countries participating in the 3+3 format meeting, except Georgia, summed up the results of the meeting that took place today in Tehran.
The final statement agreed upon by diplomats will later be announced by the Iranian side.
Statement by Sergey Lavrov
Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said that Russia, as the organizer of the event, presented a document on the prospects for the practical aspects of multilateral cooperation. Topics include economics, energy, transport, education, culture, tourism, etc.
According to the diplomat, these materials will then be coordinated by Ankara, as Türkiye will host the 2nd meeting at the ministerial level, which is planned for the first half of 2024.
Statement by Jeyhun Bayramov
The Azerbaijani Foreign Minister said that Azerbaijan expects mutual steps and a constructive approach from Armenia: this allows the issues under the peace agreement to be resolved as quickly as possible. Baku hopes that Yerevan will now not miss the unique opportunity to completely normalize the situation in the region.
Jeyhun Bayramov also drew attention to the fact that the interaction and cooperation between the countries of the region is based on respect for sovereignty and territorial integrity, as well as mutual inviolability of borders and non-interference in each other’s internal affairs.
