The demand for vacations in the post-Soviet countries among Russian residents has increased in all directions, Alexander Osaulenko, Director of the TourAssist Association and Vice-President of the Russian Union of Tourism Industry, said in response to a question from Vestnik Kavkaza.

"Many of these countries have quite good tourism infrastructure, which is in demand not only among Russians, but also in the world market in general. If we take Azerbaijan, Georgia, certain tourist destinations, then the level of these destinations is quite good",

the expert explained.

Speaking about prices for holidays in these destinations, he recalled that transportation typically accounts for 50% to 80% of the cost of a tour, so it is this factor that affects the final price of the tour.

"For example, hoteliers in Türkiye have seriously adjusted their prices this year, but the price has increased precisely due to transportation. In comparison to the last years’ figures, its cost has increased, if not doubled, then close to it",

the Director of the TourAssist Association said.

"As a result, spending holidays in the post-Soviet countries still remains one of the main trends for us. One can go to Türkiye only by plane, but, as for these countries, tourists can go there by car",

Osaulenko said.
