All restrictions imposed on Kazakhstan by the European Commission and related to flights to EU countries have been lifted.
"According to the decision of the committee meeting adopted by the 27 EU member states, taking into account significant progress in ensuring flight safety, all restrictions on flights to the countries of the European Union were lifted from Kazakhstan and Kazakh airlines",
Ministry of Transport of Kazakhstan said.
Let us recall that the country was first blacklisted in 2009 due to its low level of implementation of International Civil Aviation standards. In 2018, the restrictions were cancelled, but returned a year after the Bek Air plane crash. Last year, 2023, the compliance rate among local air carriers increased to 82%.
