Russia's Deputy Prime Minister Alexey Overchuk spoke about Russia's assistance in restoring the railway between Armenia and Georgia, which was destroyed by floods in May.
According to him, Russia has restored the railway in the disaster zone in Armenia in a short period of time.
"At a difficult time, Russia came to the aid of the people in Armenia by swiftly restoring the railway link with Georgia, which had been severed due to a natural disaster," Overchuk said.
The deputy PM noted that a long-term disruption of traffic on the only railway, which connects Armenia with the outside world and also plays the role of the main channel for the delivery of vital cargo to the country, could lead to negative consequences in the matter of providing the people with food and fuel.
