According to the Azerbaijani Ministry of Defense, the positions of the Azerbaijani army in Nakhchivan came under fire from the Armenian side again last night.
"On June 16, at 00:50, units of the Armenian Armed Forces fired small arms at the positions of the Azerbaijani army located in the direction of the settlement of Shada, Shahbuz district of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic",
the Ministry of Defense of Azerbaijan said.
According to the Defense Ministry, the fire was opened from positions of the Armenian Armed Forces located in the direction of Bardzruni, Yeghegnadzor region of Armenia. Azerbaijani military personnel took retaliatory measures, the ministry added.
The shelling of Nakhchivan resumed on June 12. In recent days, the Armenian side has already opened fire five times.
