The Georgian national football team advanced to the knockout round, as a best third-placed team, after defeating Portugal 2-0 in their final group stage match at the ongoing European Championship (Euro 2024) in Germany.
Georgian national team winger Khvicha Kvaratskhelia scored in the second minute of the match his first goal at the Championship.
Georgia doubled its lead in the 57th minute on a penalty by Georges Mikautadze, after Luka Lochoshvili was tripped in the box.
The squad will face Spain in the knockout round of the competition.
