The U.S. Department of Defense said the iteration of joint U.S.-Georgia exercise Noble Partner, scheduled for the summer of 2024, had been postponed indefinitely due a review of bilateral strategic cooperation.

"The U.S. has initiated a comprehensive review of the U.S.-Georgia bilateral relationship. As part of that review, the U.S. will indefinitely postpone this iteration of exercise NOBLE PARTNER in Georgia, originally scheduled for July 25 - August 6, 2024," the Pentagon said.

According to the Georgian Defense Ministry, such exercises are beneficial for the countries participating in it.

"They contribute to strengthening defence capabilities, developing capabilities of military personnel, raising professionalism and increasing interoperability," the statement reads.

The ministry noted that despite the postponement of the exercise, “mutually beneficial” cooperation formats in defence and security sectors were continuing.

"Despite the postponement of the exercise, the formats mentioned above continue, including preparations for the multinational exercise “Agile Spirit 2025," the ministry added.
