US Deputy Secretary of State to visit Georgia, Armenia

On Wednesday, the US Deputy Secretary of State begins her visit to the countries of the South Caucasus. As part of the trip, which will last a week, Uzra Zeya will visit Georgia and Armenia.

The United States Deputy Secretary of State, who oversees issues of civil security, democracy and human rights, is going to Georgia and Armenia, the statement of the State Department reads.

In the countries of the South Caucasus, Uzra Zeya plans to discuss democratic government, the fight against corruption, the protection of minority rights and freedom of media and speech.

During her trip to Georgia, she intends to voice serious US concerns about the republic's illiberal legislation, including the scandalous foreign agents' law, as well as harmful statements by Georgian officials that have jeopardized the country's Euro-Atlantic trajectory.
