Pashinyan thanks U.S. for help with democracy

Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and U.S. Under Secretary of State for Civilian Security, Democracy and Human Rights Uzra Zeya have discussed the peace process between Baku and Yerevan, the Armenian government's press service reported.

“The parties discussed the peace process between Armenia and Azerbaijan. The undersecretary of state emphasized that the U.S. will continue to contribute to establishing genuine peace between the two countries and ensuring security and stability in the region,” the statement reads.

Pashinyan highlighted the continuous support of the U.S. in promoting democratic reforms within Armenia. Specifically, Pashinyan emphasized initiatives targeting justice, anti-corruption measures, governance enhancement, public services and law enforcement. He stressed that the development of democracy holds strategic significance for Yerevan.

Zeya assured that the U.S. administration places great importance on deepening cooperation with Armenia, pledging ongoing technical and financial assistance for the advancement of democratic institutions.
