Massive accident claims 10 lives in southeastern Kazakhstan

A three-vehicle accident in southeastern Kazakhstan has claimed the lives of 10 people, according to a statement from the road operator "Kazavtozhol."

The accident occurred on the night of September 13-14 on the Almaty-Ust-Kamenogorsk highway in the Zhetysu region.

"The driver of a Nissan Cefiro, moving south, drove into the oncoming traffic lane, where he collided with a Lada, before subsequently crashing into a Chevrolet Cobalt",

the press service of "Kazavtozhol" reported.

As a result of the accident, the driver of the Nissan, the passenger of the Lada and eight people, including a child, who were in the Chevrolet died.

Another three people in the Lada sustained various injuries.

This is the second accident in Kazakhstan in a week, in which 10 people died.
