Iranian media reported the transfer of 292 prisoners to Afghanistan on November 25, citing official confirmation from Iran's Ministry of Justice.
The ministry noted that these were Afghan prisoners handed over to the Taliban through the Dogharun and Islam Qala border crossings.
Most transferred prisoners were convicted primarily for drug-related offenses.
The prisoner exchange operation follows previously established bilateral agreements between the two nations.
