The first eight railcars carrying Russian grain have departed from the Volgograd region's Gmelinskaya station for Armenia, via Azerbaijani territory, the press service of the Volga Region Railway reported.
The railcars with Russian grain shipment will arrive at Yerevan station.
By the end of this year, the railway operator plans to deliver over 2,000 tons of grain to Armenia via this corridor, requiring a total of approximately 30 railcars.
The press service attributed the successful establishment of this new logistical route to the recent resumption of cargo transit to Armenia through Azerbaijan.
