Russian President Vladimir Putin today extended his greetings on Christmas and the upcoming New Year 2026 to heads of foreign states and governments, according to a statement on the Kremlin website.

"Russian President Vladimir Putin has sent congratulatory messages on the occasion of Christmas and the upcoming New Year, 2026, to the heads of foreign states and governments. Among them are President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev, President of Armenia Vahagn Khachaturyan and Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan," the statement reads.

The Russian leader's greetings were also received by President of Abkhazia Badra Gunba, President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko, President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Japarov, President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon, President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedow and the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedow, President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev, and President of South Ossetia Alan Gagloev.

Greetings from the Russian leader were also extended to former heads of foreign states and governments - Raúl Castro, Robert Kocharyan, Nursultan Nazarbayev, Serzh Sargsyan, and Gerhard Schröder, the message stated.
