Criminal case initiated in Nalchik following destruction of memorial

A criminal case has been initiated against officials in Nalchik, who are suspected of negligence that led to the partial destruction of a war memorial.

The officials have become defendants in a criminal case following the collapse of a memorial in Nalchik, the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation for Kabardino-Balkaria informs.

The investigation has established that the memorial to the Great Patriotic War victims, located in a park near Tolstoy Street, partially collapsed due to the failure of responsible officials to ensure its preservation and restoration.
