Iran urges world community to condemn attack by Israel and US

Iran's Foreign Ministry has officially accused the United States and Israel of aggression against Iran, saying that strikes on Iranian civilian and military targets were carried out during the diplomatic process.

“The renewed military aggression by the United States and the Israeli regime came at a time when the diplomatic process between Iran and the United States was underway,” the statement read.

The strikes by the US and Israel are a violation of international law, territorial integrity, and sovereignty, targeting civilian and military infrastructure in the country, the statement added.

“The military attack by the US and Israel on Iran is taking place during the diplomatic process between Iran and the US... The retaliation for this aggression is Iran's legitimate right under Article 51 of the UN Charter,” the statement read.

The ministry called on UN member states, particularly Middle Eastern Muslim countries, and countries that “feel responsible for maintaining peace and international security,” to condemn the actions of the US and Israel.
