The number of measles cases has increased in Dagestan, the regional department of Rospotrebnadzor informs.
188 cases of measles were laboratory confirmed in Dagestan, the press service of the regional department of Rospotrebnadzor informs.
The fact that measles often mimics other infections complicates the diagnosis, and laboratory testing is needed to make a definitive diagnosis.
“188 laboratory-confirmed cases of measles were registered in the Republic of Dagestan. The epidemiological situation is characterized as tense, but controlled. Cases of the disease are registered among persons who have not been vaccinated against measles,"
- the message reads.
It is specified that the epidemiological situation with measles infection in the republic worsened in February. Previously, only isolated cases were recorded without spreading.
