According to the press service of the Center for Disease Control and Prevention of the Armenian Ministry of Health, 20 residents of Armenia tested positive for measles last week.
It is noted that 9 cases of infection were detected among children, and 11 measles cases were registered among adults. Three people were hospitalized. The number of cases of measles since the beginning of the year has amounted to 472.
The Armenian Ministry of Health urged parents of unvaccinated children to contact clinics. The Ministry also added that those who had contact with sick people and did not receive a dose of the vaccine should also be vaccinated.
In May, the head of the Center, Svetlana Grigoryan, stated that the situation with measles in the republic remained alarming. According to her, the situation has not caused concern since 2007.
