2/3 of Russians regret the collapse of the USSR

More than half of Russians (64%) would vote for the preservation of the Soviet Union in case of a referendum on the subject, a survey conducted by the All-Russian Public Opinion Research Center (VTsIOM), published on the website of the organization today indicates.

"25 years after the referendum (March 17th, 1991) a majority of citizens expressed their willingness to give an affirmative answer on the preservation of the USSR. Thus, according to the Central Referendum Commission of the USSR, 76% chose the 'yes' line in their ballots. Today, 64% of Russians would vote for the preservation of the Soviet Union,'' Tass reports, using materials of the survey.
