A total of 15 170 people asked Germany for granting of political asylum in October 2017, out of them 380 are Georgian citizens – 1tv.ge reports citing German Ministry of Internal Affairs.
Based on the report, Georgia was on the 9th place with respect to political asylum seekers. The first place goes to Syria. Migration policy is one of the main issues of consultations of Germany’s new government.
