4th day of 37th Rhythmic Gymnastics World Championships kicks off in Baku

In Baku, at the National Gymnastics Arena, the 4th day of the 37th Rhythmic Gymnastics World Championships begins.

Today, the individual qualifications in exercises with clubs and ribbon started yesterday continue in all four groups; they will end at 16.50 Moscow time. In the evening, finals will be held in the following disciplines: at 18.30 Moscow time - in exercises with clubs, at 19.05 Moscow time -in exercises with a ribbon. The awarding of both finals winners and team standings will be held at 19.40 Moscow time. Thus, today will be played three sets of medals.

On the first two days, the competitions in the individual exercises with a hoop and ball were held. The gold medals were won by Russians: Ekaterina Selezneva became the world champion in exercises with a hoop, and Dina Averina - the world champion in exercises with a ball.

Tomorrow, the competition in the all-around individual program will be held. On the weekend, there will be qualifications and finals in team exercises with five balls,  three hoops and two pairs of clubs. The winners will be determined in both exercises as well as in the all-around event on the results of the qualifications.

This week, on September 16-22, the 37th World Rhythmic Gymnastics Championships is held at the National Gymnastics Arena in Baku. The tournament is the qualification competition for the 32nd Olympic Games in Tokyo. More than 300 gymnasts from 61 countries are competing for nine sets of medals. The motto of the tournament is “Fairy tales will come to life”
