5.5-magnitude quake hits Italy

An earthquake with a magnitude of 5.5 jolted 55 km north of Peschici, Italy, at 1347 GMT on Saturday, the U.S. Geological Survey said, Xinhua informs.

The epicentre, with a depth of 10.0 km, was initially determined to be at 42.4429 degrees north latitude and 16.0468 degrees east longitude.
