An earthquake with a magnitude of 5 points was registered 540 km from Tashkent in the Hindu Kush region of Afghanistan at a depth of 218 km. Uzbekistan could also sense the underground tremors, RIA Novosti reports with reference to the seismic station 'Tashkent'.
According to the European Mediterranean Seismological Centre, the epicenter of the earthquake was located 71 km from Faizabad at a depth of 218 km.
