Russia’s anti-terrorist operation in Syria will play a key role in countering Islamic State militants in the region, Iran's deputy foreign minister, Hossein Amir Abdollahian, said.
"We believe that Russia’s actions against terrorists in Syria will be of key importance in the fight against terrorism in the region at this stage," Tasnim cited him as saying.
The diplomat said that Iran and Moscow are holding constant consultations on Islamic State activity in Syria and possible consequences of the terrorist group’s actions for states of the region, TASS reports.
