The President of the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR), Rovnag Abdullayev, during today's meeting with a group of students of the Baku Higher Oil School, refuted the popular belief about the allegedly low level of gas connections to the population in the republic.
"These views are fundamentally wrong and baseless. Please note, both the northern and southern neighboring countries of Azerbaijan are strong gas countries of the world, but, despite this, our level of gas connection is significantly higher than in those countries. The President set us the task to primarily increase gas supplies to the population. The level of gas connection in Azerbaijan at the moment is 90%. When we begin to export gas to Europe, this figure will be even higher," Trend quoted him as saying.
