The Russian Deputy Defense Minister, Anatoly Antonov, said at the 3rd meeting of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) defense ministers and dialogue partners that 25-30 thousand foreign militants from Asian-Pacific countries and Russia are fighting alongside Islamic State.
"Today 25-30 thousand foreign militants, including from the Asian-Pacific countries and, unfortunately, Russia are fighting alongside Islamic State. If they return to their homelands with potential violence and extremism, they will be preaching radical ideas in our countries or will organize subversive activities," RIA Novosti cited the Deputy Defense Minister as saying.
