A number of African countries have requested Moscow’s assistance in combating the coronavirus, a Russian Foreign Ministry official said.
"A number of countries on the African continent have requested Russia’s assistance in combating COVID-19. African nations need a wide range of medical equipment, including ventilators, as well as testing systems, individual protective gear, disinfectants and consumables," TASS cited him as saying,
The official added that these requests are carefully studied and the situation in a particular country is taken into account, noting that coronavirus spread rates were relatively low in African countries, with the exception of Algeria, Egypt, Morocco and South Africa.
