Syrian President Ahmed al-Sharaa addressed the nation during an event commemorating the first anniversary of former President Bashar al-Assad's resignation.
Speaking after morning prayers at the Umayyad Mosque in Damascus, he pledged to fully restore Syria and its state institutions.
The president also called on the Syrian people to unite in order to secure national stability.
Al-Sharaa was also reported to have attended a celebratory military parade.
The anniversary marks one year since former President Bashar al-Assad resigned and left the country following the opposition's capture of the Syrian capital.
