The 4th Islamic Solidarity Games in Baku are extremely important for Turkish gymnasts, so they are trying to win as many medals as possible, member of Turkish national gymnastics team Ahmet Onder said today in an interview with Vestnik Kavkaza.
"It's great that there are competitions like this, they are very important for our country, and that's why we want to win medals of the Islamic Games in Baku," he said.
Ahmet Onder thanked the Organizing Committee for holding competitions of such high level. "Everything is great in Baku. You feel like you're home," he noted.
The 4th Islamic Solidarity Games are held in Baku from May 8 to 22. Athletes will compete at 16 sports facilities in 20 types of sports - 17 Olympic and three non-Olympic ones. Competitions in artistic and rhythmic gymnastics were included in the program of Islamic Solidarity Games for the first time at the initiative of the First Vice President of Azerbaijan, President of the Azerbaijan Gymnastics Federation, Mehriban Aliyeva.
