The studio of Vestnik Kavkaza was visited today by a member of the Federation Council Committee on International Affairs, a representative of the legislative (representative) body of the Republic of Ingushetia, Ahmed Palankoev. In a live broadcast of the program Tribune he spoke about the winter tourist season started in Ingushetia.
First of all, the senator noted that Ingushetia is one of the most interesting republics in terms of tourism development. "The potential of tourism does not depend on the area of the subject of the Russian Federation. It depends on the interesting nature, monuments, conditions and quality of service. We have everything," Ahmet Palankoev said, noting that the region can suggest both summer and winter recreation.
"The Armkhi ski resort was built in the mountains for winter holidays. Initially it was assumed that it would be suitable for beginners, but we have already organized a few all-Russian competitions in giant slalom among professionals and Paralympic competitions," the senator said.
The resort has healing properties. "Initially, the summer residence of Mikhail Kalinin was there, the Armkhi health resort was build there in Soviet times for people with lung diseases, including asthma, allergies, and tubercular. The local pine pollen has corresponding medicinal properties. Of course, the Soviet Armkhi was designed as a comfortable summer rest,'' Ahmet Palankoev said.
"There are two hotels with 42 and 22 rooms, and the rest of the building is sporting infrastructure, including indoor and outdoor swimming pools, a pool for diving. Everything was built according to the Olympic international standards, so that our Olympians could train there.
One of the main problems of Russian resorts was also resolved. It is now easy to get to Armkhi.
"It takes two hours to get from Moscow to Magas and Vladikavkaz. There are two flights to Magas, four flights to Vladikavkaz. It takes an hour to get from the airport to the mountainous part of Ingushetia. The ski resort is also located very close. New roads have recently been built with modern asphalt, curbs and markings. It takes a little more than 20 hours to travel there with the help of the Moscow-Nazran train. Therefore, there are no problems in getting to Armkhi," Ahmet Palankoev said.
"The people there are responsive, Caucasian hospitality is a famous characteristic. In the times when it was necessary to receive a permit in order to enter there, one of my co-workers decided to travel to Ingushetia. At the time of registration of documents a taxi driver invited him to his place, fed him, gave him a bed, and then took him into the city free of charge. The issue of security is solved in the republic. I think that the next step needs to be taken, so that people aren't surprised that senators are ordinary people and they don't need guards. I think everything will be fine," Ahmet Palankoev concluded.
