Today an Air Astana aircraft carrying out flight KS872 from Moscow to Alma-Ata had to make an emergency landing at Atyrau Airport.
According to Almaty Airport, the emergency landing was made ‘‘for technical reasons". The Department of Emergency Situations (DES) of the Atyrau region explained the situation was due to the response of the emergency landing sensor.
The arrival of the flight to Almaty was postponed from 04:50 PM local time until midnight.
There were were 119 passengers and 11 crew members on board. "They are in the airport now. It is expected that another aircraft will fly to Almaty by 9:15 PM,’’ Interfax cites the DES.
