The Ministry of Transport of the Russian Federation warned that air transportation on domestic routes could rise in price by 15-30% this year.
"The fact is that this year we have not yet approved the allocation of subsidies as in 2022: as you remember, it was 100 billion rubles. In this regard, we expect, perhaps, there will be an increase in the cost of transportation from about 15 to 30 %",
- Igor Chalik, Deputy Head of the Ministry of Transport, explained at a meeting on preparations for the new tourist season.
This situation will affect the number of flights: there will be fewer flights across Russia, the Deputy Minister added.
In Russia 11 south airports have been closed for two years. They were in great demand among vacationers due to their proximity to seaside resorts. Chalik said that the opening of two air harbors, the airports of Krasnodar and Gelendzhik, could improve the situation with flights.
