Turkey will activate as planned S-400 missile defense systems acquired from Russia, once the relevant military personnel complete their training, Turkish National Defense Minister Hulusi Akar said.
According to him, training efforts were ongoing on the operation of the missile defense hardware.
"After this process is completed, we will conduct our planned activities [on S-400s]," Anadolu Agency cited Akar as saying.
Earlier, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said that Ankara will not give up Russia’s S-400 missile defense systems even if it acquires U.S.-made Patriot systems.
