Another stage of preparation has been completed at the site of the Akkuyu nuclear power plant (NPP), which is under construction in Türkiye. Video from the station is published by Rosatom.
The state corporation explained that specialists have completed the process of the reloading machine's installation.
"The equipment will ensure accurate and safe movement of fuel assemblies with fuel inside the reactor compartment",
Rosatom said.
The message clarifies that the NPP is now ready for further work. Accordingly, tests are ahead, and then the launch of the first power unit will take place.
Where is Akkuyu NPP located?
The Russian-Turkish Akkuyu NPP project is being implemented in the Gülnar district of Mersin province. It is being built on the shores of the Mediterranean Sea. Its location was chosen back in 1974.
Akkuyu is the first NPP in Türkiye. At the end of May, it was reported that the first reactor could be launched within a year.
