Aksenov: sanctions against Crimea embarrassment for EU

The extension of the EU sanctions against the Crimea is a manifestation of the totalitarian thinking of Western leaders who do not accept the free choice of the peoples of the republic, the head of Crimea Sergey Aksenov said.

"It is an embarrassment for Europe and the manifestation of totalitarian thinking, it is a stupid and immoral policy that harms everyone and ultimately leads to chaos in international relations," he wrote on his Facebook page.

Aksenov noted that the real consequences of the EU economic sanctions towards Crimea are 'insignificant', since there were no serious foreign investments in the Ukrainian period either.

He stressed that it is necessary to convey the truth about Crimea to the foreign public.

"We have nothing to hide, we are aware of both our historical rightness and the absolute legal perfection of the decision on reunification with Russia, adopted at the March 2014 referendum," TASS cited the head of Crimea as saying.
