The leader of the 'Free Democrats', Irakli Alasania, once again demanded a speedy solving of the assassination attempt on his fellow party member, Alexi Petriashvili.
"I demand the strictest punishment for the perpetrators, not because it was an action directed against my political party – some are concerned about our rating, which is growing, some are concerned about our relations with people – but today it is secondary for me. We're talking about what kind of society we want to build, and in this society, which we want to be progressive, such instances should not exist," Georgia Online quotes his statement during a broadcast of 'Rustavi 2'.
"This is a step taken by people with the mentality of the 90s, stuck in the period when they backstabbed each other. In other words, today old Georgia is fighting against progressive Georgia," he said.
