Iranian Parliament Speaker Ali Larijani was reelected as speaker of Iran’s parliament for the third time. Larijani won 237 votes out of 276 lawmakers.

Ali Larijani has held the position since 2008, the New York Times reminds.

Ali Motahhari was elected the deputy head of Parliament. A reformist Massoud Pezeshkian was also elected the deputy head of the body.

Larijanis' father, Grand Ayatollah Hashem Amoli, was a prominent cleric.
