The withdrawal of the Russian peacekeeping contingent from Azerbaijan is completed, the Ministry of Defense of Azerbaijan announced.
The Russian peacekeeping contingent has been completely withdrawn from the territory of the Republic of Azerbaijan, a corresponding statement was made by the Ministry of Defense of Azerbaijan.
"Personnel, weapons and equipment of the peacekeeping contingent were completely withdrawn from the territory of Azerbaijan,”
– the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Azerbaijan informed.
The withdrawal of the Russian peacekeepers from the territory of Azerbaijan that had been working in accordance with the Tripartite Statement of November 9, 2020, was announced in April.
Later this information was confirmed by the press secretary of the Russian President Dmitry Peskov. Presidential Assistant Hikmet Hajiyev explained that the decision had already been made at the highest level, and the process was already started. Measures in the framework of the process were taken by the defense ministries of both countries.
