In Almaty, the population will be prepared for possible emergencies, including earthquakes. Stands with evacuation schemes will be installed at entrances to residential buildings, Mayor of the city Yerbolat Dosaev says. Evacuation to shelters will be worked out during evacuation drills that are planned to be carried out this fall. Residents will be notified and prepared.
According to the head of Almaty, today, not all shelters meet the requirements. “Last Saturday I went around, inspected shelters. Some of them are in poor condition. To solve the problem, I gave the relevant instructions,” Dosaev says.
