Anna Maria Avramut: Azerbaijan should speak truth about Karabakh more loudly

Azerbaijan should speak the truth about the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict at the international level more actively and confidently to oppose the propaganda of supporters of the occupation of Azerbaijani territories, the head of regional projects of the Austrian company LGP Project Solutions, Anna Maria Avramut said, speaking with the correspondent of Vestnik Kavkaza on the sidelines of the 'Gobustan - rock art at the crossroads of cultures' international conference about the problem of the destruction of architectural monuments in the occupied territories.

"I think that Azerbaijan acts very cautiously, speaking not loud and persistently enough at the international level about what is actually happening in the occupied territories. Unfortunately, Yerevan expresses its opinion much louder, trying to sell itself as a victim, which is not true, of course," she pointed out.

"I think that Azerbaijan should be more persistent in telling real facts about what is happening in the occupied territories at the international level. The problem of double standards in the world community is always present, therefore, it is so important for Azerbaijan to launch a very serious PR campaign t at the cultural level to show the true situation more effectively," Anna Maria Avramut urged.

The head of regional projects at LGP Project Solutions stressed the importance of protecting and popularizing the Azerbaijani cultural heritage in the world. "Azerbaijani culture is unique and very interesting, they need to promoted it at the world level, communicate with international organizations so more people could learn about it," she said.

The 'Gobustan - rock art at the crossroads of cultures' international conference, which is attended by archaeologists from Russia, Austria, Spain, Italy and Norway, was organized in the palace of official receptions of the office of the Azerbaijani President on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the establishment of the Gobustan Rock Art Cultural Landscape and the 10th anniversary of its inclusion in the UNESCO World Heritage List.
