Today a representative of the executive body of the government of the Chukotka Autonomous Okrug, a member of the Federation Council Committee on Social Policy, the senator Anna Otke, visited the studio of Vestnik Kavkaza. During the program Tribuna she spoke about the modern life of Chukotka and about her acquaintance with Ingushetia.
The senator said that she visited Ingushetia for the first time last year. "I realized that it is very warm region with excellent air and a very healthy human climate. Those stereotypes, which, unfortunately, are prevalent in society, have been completely destroyed after this trip. I met nice, good people with a good attitude to each other and to the representatives of other regions," the senator added.
Anna Otke encouraged more communication to overcome stereotypes not just about the Caucasus, but also about other Russian regions. Speaking of her trip to Chukotka, the senator warned that this is a land of adventure tourism "and those who will go there should use all their powers of body and strength of spirit."
"Chukotka is so big and so different. There are places which are not completely explored, like Lake El'gygytgyn. It is a crater lake in the center of the Chukotka Peninsula, I think that it offers a unique opportunity for scientific tourism, as there are many different kinds of endemic fish. A nuclear power plant is located in Bilibino, and reindeer herders live there," the representative of the executive body of the government of the Chukotka Autonomous Okrug concluded.
